Helen M. DePollo 1916-2003 Obituary
Helen M. DePollo, 87, of Thomas, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md.
She was born July 26, 1916, in Thomas, the daughter of the late Ralph Lewis DePollo Sr. and Mary Mae Wenck DePollo.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Watring of Thomas and Gertrude Wilson and husband, Richard, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph L. DePollo Jr.; and one sister, Dorotha DePollo.
Miss DePollo was a veteran of the U.S. Army Nursing Corps and retired as a major with 25 years of service.
She served with the 106th Station Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital Unit of Clarksburg
She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Altar Society and was a longtime member of the Volunteers of Cortland Acres Nursing Home.
Friends will be received at the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today with a vigil for the deceased at 7 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Thomas at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Father Lino Ebejer as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thomas.
