Mabel Desch 1931-2002 Obituary
Mabel Desch, 71, of Mill Creek, formerly of the Avenel Section of Woodbridge, N.J., died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at her son’s home in Iselin, N.J.
She was born in Newark, N.J., and resided in Perth Amboy, N.J., Woodbridge, N.J., and Cliffwood Beach, N.J., before moving to West Virginia in 1991.
Mrs. Desch was employed as a waitress at the Reo Diner and Mayfair
Restaurant in Woodbridge, N.J., for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert P. Desch, in 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Hattersley, and husband, David, of Mill Creek; a son, Herbert “Bart” Desch Jr. and wife, Bonnie, of Iselin, N.J.; a sister, Joan Aiello of Hillside, N.J.; and 10 grandchildren, Jerry Podolsky Jr., Christopher Podolsky, Jennifer Podolsky, Elizabeth Podolsky, Steven Podolsky, Theresa Desch, Christopher Desch, Julia Desch, Shannon Desch and Danielle Desch.
Funeral services were held at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel St., Avenel, N.J.
Interment followed in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
Friends were received at the funeral home.
