Geneva C. Foster 1915-2003 Obituary
Geneva C. Foster, 88, a resident of old Route 77, Galloway, died Saturday morning, Dec. 20, 2003, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born July 13, 1915, at Ten Mile community near Belington, the daughter of the late Perry Isaac and Eva Wagner Gour.
On June 17, 1938, she was married to James Randolph Foster, who preceded her in death in June 1970.
Surviving are six daughters, Christine Farris of Brownton, Aneta Mae Farris of Philippi, Elnor Rose McCurdy and Carol Sue Marks, both of Galloway, Patricia Ann Dobbins of McKees Rocks, Pa., and Edith Marie Starkey of the Astor community; four sons, Raymond Lee Foster of Galloway, James Ronald Foster of Manassas, Va., Roger Foster of Brownton and Richard Gour Foster of Conroe, Texas.; one brother, Junior Forrest Gour, address unknown; 35 grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Roy Neal Foster; two sisters, Velva Gour Hunt and Bessie Mae Gour Manos; two brothers, Monzell Gour and Calvin Isaac Gour; and one grandson, James R. Farris Jr.
Mrs. Foster was a homemaker and was a member of the Valley Bend Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at the Stemple & Forman Funeral home in Philippi from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesday, when funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Lois Sandy officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery. Stemple & Forman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements
