Dolores Faith Shiflett Williams 1936-2018 Obituary
Dolores Faith Shiflett Williams, 81, a resident of Coalton, passed from this life Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at home surrounded by family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
She was born on February 4, 1936 at Everettville, a daughter of the late Herman Hugh and Margaret Eleanor Fridley Shiflett.
On July 20, 1958 at Jerusalem Methodist Church at Mill Creek, she married Carroll Victor Williams who preceded her in death on April 10, 2000.
On April 17, 2013, her beloved son, Michael Ray Williams also preceded her in death.
Dolores is survived by six children, David Tackett and wife Robin of Kingsville, Penny Brown and husband Terry of Harding, Curtis Williams and wife Marlene of Lexington NC, Wanda White and husband Rick of Parsons, Kevin Williams and wife Jackie of Martinsburg, and Missy Dillon and husband Nick of Cravensdale.
She is also survived by daughter in law, Loreta Williams James of Tarboro, NC.
Surviving are 15 grandchildren, April Brown, Mary Lafferty, Samantha Williams, Doris Brown, Michael Jedidiah Williams, Jessica Casseres, Jacob Williams, Logan White, Shirley Blue, Zachary Williams, Megan Haynes, Joshua Williams, Cierra Williams, Chase Williams, and Nicholas Dillon. Surviving are also eight great grandchildren, Cassondra McKiever, Keaton Williams, Lucas Williams, Addison Williams, Damon Williams, Hunter Kimbrew, Lettie Haynes and Ryleigh Blue.
On May 30, 1989 she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Alana Paige Williams.
She is also survived by two brothers, Jimmy and Karen Shiflett of Mill Creek, Chris and Sharon Shiftlett of Newport News, VA two sisters, Faye and Don Wamsley of Valley Bend and Maxine and Charlie Pingley of Elkins.
She was proceeded in death by two sisters, Juanita Armstrong and Eloise Armstrong and one brother, Ricky Shiflett.
Dolores was a 1953 graduate of Tygart Valley High School and. devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed being a military wife for nearly twenty years and traveling to duty stations both at home and abroad with her husband.
Forty three years after retiring from the Army, she still enjoyed traveling to a Commissary.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Friday, January 12, 2018 from 11:00am-1:00pm, the funeral hour.
Rev. Marshall Williams will officiate and interment will follow in Zirkle Cemetery in Cassity.
