Bertha L. Pickens Brown Burnside, age 88, of Rock Cave, WV passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at her home. She was born on September 17, 1933, in Lewis County to the late Leland D. Pickens and Lois D. Gould Pickens. She is survived by two sons: Michael S. Brown and Richard L. Brown of Rock Cave WV.; six grandsons, several great grandchildren; one brother James Pickens of Fairmont, WV: one sister Wanda Bickle of Fairmont, WV, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Hobert L. Brown, and Donald G. Burnside: one daughter Tranda Jo Burnside; two brothers: Loy Pickens, and William Pickens; two sisters: Oleta Swisher, and Maxine Steele.
Bertha was a Christian by faith. The family has honored her request for cremation. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00am at the Salem Ridge Cemetery with Pastor David Jessie officiating.
