Arta Elladean “Tudy” Hall Furby 1928-2022 Obituary
Arta Elladean “Tudy” Hall Furby, 94, a resident of Denver, NC, passed from this life Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
Tudy was born Saturday, January 28, 1928, in Webster County, a daughter of the late Charlie Douglas Hall and Sarah Hulda Clevenger Hall. On December 31, 1946, in Cumberland, MD, she married Shirley Alfred Furby who preceded her in death on July 15, 2016, after celebrating sixty-nine years of marriage.
Left to cherish Tudy’s memory is one daughter, Charlotte Heckler and husband Dorsey of Denver, NC, one granddaughter, Gail Coen and husband Keith of Huntersville and two great grandchildren, Luke and Grayson Coen.
Preceding Tudy in death besides her parents and husband was one son, William “Billy” Alfred Furby, one grandson, Jeremy Heckler.
Tudy moved to North Carolina to be close to her family. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed traveling, shopping and good food, especially pizza. She loved boating and wouldn’t miss a ride. As one who appreciated cleanliness and organization, she would often start her day at 4am organizing her closet. She had a strong determination and an independent spirit with a willingness to help others around her. She loved Jesus which showed through her daily Bible reading and support of ministries in their endeavor to take the Gospel around the world. Tudy was a member of the Elkins Church of God for twenty years. We will miss her as she has moved to her “forever home” in Heaven and we look forward to the day we see her again.
Graveside services will be held at Mountain State Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 1pm. Interment will follow.
