Jimmie J. Ball 1936-2022 Obituary
Jimmie J. Ball, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, as Heaven’s gate opened to welcome home one of their own, earning his wings at 85 years young.
Jim was the first born Sunday, December 27, 1936, to the late Aubrey and Ceola (Betty) Ball. At a young age Jim moved to the state of Ohio for work, where he resided for over 60 years. He worked as a mechanic for Luntz Corp in Leavittsburg, OH until he retired. He was an outdoorsmen; he loved hunting, fishing, racing, four wheeling and the simple things in life.
Late in life he returned to the Ball Family farm, a place that was always dear to his heart. On the farm he felt closer to his roots and the memories of his Mother. He returned to spend time with and enjoy the company of his siblings. He enjoyed, as he called it “giving back and helping where I can”. He loved going up the mountain and, in the woods, where he ultimately took his last breath. He was where he wanted to be and was happy!
Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Vickie (Mark) Edie of Cortland, OH; a son William “Bill” Ball of Leavittsburg, OH a step-son Ted (Sharon) Luman of Howland, OH. Nine Grandchildren: Stephen, Shannon, Shane, Lindsay, Haley, Tommy, Aiden, Landon and Calleigh. Ten Great-Grandchildren: Sydney, Christopher, Cameron, Brayden, Bryce, Aiden, Bella, Conner, Harper and Colson. Five sisters; Jean Buhl, Sharon Cutright, Peggy (Kencel) Lanham and Donna (Lencil) Scott of Huttonsville. Shirley (Eugene) Lanham of Millcreek. Two brothers; Charles (Janice) Ball of Mentor, OH and Willard (Diane) Ball of Millcreek. As well as many nieces and nephews. He loved them all!
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by two brothers: Bob, Larry and a set of twins James and Janice.
He was a member of the Markley Chapel Church. Jim was known for big, warm hugs. He will truly be missed by all!
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 11am until 1pm, the funeral hour. Rev. Billy Young will officiate, and interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery.
