Walter Gregory DeBarr 1982-2022 Obituary
Walter Gregory DeBarr, age 39, of Buckhannon, WV, died unexpectedly Monday, February 7, 2022, at his home. He was born September 21, 1982, in Elkins, WV, a son of the late Barbara D. DeBarr Koon and John W. Koon of Buckhannon who survives. In addition to his father, he is also survived by two sons, Shaden Lemont DeBarr and Skyler DeBarr both of Buckhannon; one daughter, Jozie DeBarr of Junior, WV; one brother, Jonathan Koon and companion Melissa Small of Buckhannon; two sisters, Jainnie Koon and Marie Koon both of Buckhannon and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter was an accomplished singer/songwriter with a unique, smoky voice you would never forget. He was the most genuine, loving, caring soul; with a hug that could cure any negative feelings you might be having in that moment. Walter had so much love for everyone he met and always wanted to spread joy – no matter if he was just walking down the street or playing his music. To us, Walter seems to have been taken too soon, but his spirit will live on in the music he left behind.
