Jeannette Dumire 1919-2003 Obituary
Jeannette Elizabeth Pennington Dumire, 84, a resident of 1 Easy St., Elkins, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 30, 1919, in Morgantown, the daughter of the late Iva Helmick and Remer Pennington.
She was twice married, first to Richard Dunham, who preceded her in death, and later to Arnold Dumire, who also preceded her in death.
Surviving is one son, Jeffery A. Dumire, Baltimore, Md.; two foster sons, Ronald and Donald Jackson, both of California; two sisters, Vivian Robinson, Elkins, and Vera Knotts, Hambleton; two brothers, Charles Pennington and wife, Mary, Killeen, Texas, and Roy Pennington and wife, Jill, Buckhannon.
Two sisters-in-law, Wilda Harsh and husband, Andy, of Eglon, and Annabell Pennington of Keyser; one brother-in-law, Clifton Dumire, Tucson, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dog, Mitzi, also survive.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Earl, Darl, Carl and James Pennington; and an infant sister, Ocie Marie Pennington.
Mrs. Dumire was formerly employed in Baltimore, Md., and in Elkins and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Dumire, along with her husband, Arnold, operated the Crystal Springs Indoor Flea Market for many years.
She was a member of the Church of God and attended the Hart Chapel Church.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dave Collins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Thomas.
