John P. Dumire 1947-2003 Obituary
John Paul Dumire, 55, of Davis, passed away at his residence Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003.
He was born Dec. 9, 1947, in Rowlesburg, a son of Pauline Maxine Dumire Leary and the late Hendricks Cleveland Waybright.
He is also survived by one son, John Paul Smith; and two daughters, Sherry Ann Smith and Rebecca Lynn Smith, all of Altoona, Pa.; four brothers, Leroy Arbogast of Frederick, Md., Walter Dumire, New Castle, Del.; David Leary, Holly Meadows, and Delbert Earl Dumire, Oakland, Md.; two sisters, Eva Farmer, Bear, Del., and Bonnie Leary, Davis; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Dumire.
Mr. Dumire worked as a carpenter’s helper.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam war earning four Bronze Service Stars and an Army Commendation Medal.
Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hinkle Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Winter officiating.
Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
