Michael L. Edman 1988-2003 Obituary
Michael Lee Edman, 15, a resident of Kingsport, Tenn., passed away Tuesday evening, July 22, 2003, as a result of a injuries sustained when struck by an automobile while crossing the street in Weber City, Va.
He was born May 5, 1988, in Baltimore, Md., a son of Shelly Ann Thompson of Kingsport, Tenn., and Thomas Charles Thompson of Junior.
Also surviving are one sister, Misty Dawn Edman and twin sister, Megan Ann Edman, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; grandparents, Willard and Margaret Swisher of Beverly, and Bernie and Helen Edman of Parkersburg; several uncles and aunts, including Tom Swisher, Elkins, Richard Swisher, Beverly, Crystal Swisher, Beverly, Owen Swisher, Elkins, Melinda Lasley, Kingsport, Tenn., and Doris and Mike Williams of Elkins. Several cousins and two close friends, Brooks Parks of Elkins and Tommy Jennings of Kingsport, Tenn., also survive.
Preceding him in death was his biological father, Michael Lee Edman.
He was a student at John Sevier Middle School in Kingsport, Tenn., and was a former student at Elkins Middle School. He was well known as the “Beaver Boy.” He was a bright, humorous boy who lit up the room with his smile. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and chilling with his friends.
Friends may call from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the K of P Cemetery near Junior. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Michael Lee Edman.
