Ruby K. Evans 1926-2003 Obituary
Ruby K. Evans, 77, of Buckhannon, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Virgil Max Marple and Zola Fitzgerald Marple.
On Jan. 6, 1945, she married Junior Evans, who survives in Buckhannon.
Also surviving are one son, Gary and wife, Inis Evans, Buckhannon; one grandson, Jeromy and wife, Jamie Evans, Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Dee and husband, Cole Garrett, Hodgesville; two great-grandsons, Cody Garrett and Cade Garrett, both of Hodgesville; and a sister-in-law, Angeline Marple, Hodgesville.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Delana Harris Evans; and a brother, Lyndell Max Marple.
She was a secretary for the board of education and a secretary for Moore’s Business Forms and an Upshur County School teacher. She was a member of Heaston United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Holly J. Hoover and Pastor Bonnie Starkey officiating. Interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery at Buckhannon.
