William R. Everson 1929-2003 Obituary
William Robert Everson, 74, of Ten Mile community, Route 2, Belington, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at the home of his daughter, where he had resided for the past seven years. Death followed an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1929, at Philippi, the son of the late Walter and Susie C. McKelrath Everson.
Surviving are one daughter, Doris Jean Wagner and husband, Danny; two sons, Walter Ray Everson and wife, Sheryl, of Rainelle, and William Joseph Everson of Belington; one brother, Mendel Murl Everson of Deerfield, Ohio; one sister, Madeline Snyder of Avon Lake, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, David Earl Everson and Michael Anthony Everson; by one daughter, Patricia Louise Everson; by one sister, Marcelene Moran; by two brothers, Isaac Earl Everson and Roger Lee Everson; and by one granddaughter, Diana Marie Everson.
Mr. Everson was a former carpenter and river man. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army, and was a former member of the West Virginia National Guard.
He was a life member of Laurel Mountain Post 410 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Belington.
Friends were received at the Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel in Belington from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services were conducted at the Mt. Liberty Cemetery at 11 a.m. today with the Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery. Schoonover-Stemple Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
