Jesse Flanagan 1930-2003 Obituary
Jesse Flanagan, 72, of Harman, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
He was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Dryfork, a son of the late Robert and Edith Huffman Flanagan.
He is survived by his wife, Leoma White Flanagan, who he married on June 13, 1953.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael and wife, Cheryl Flanagan, of Charlotte, N.C., and Timothy and wife, Mary Flanagan, of Wicomico, Va.; three brothers, Henry Flanagan of Dryfork, Bobby Flanagan of Wickliff, Ohio, and Steven Flanagan of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Violet Garris and Juanita Flanagan, both of Wadesboro, N.C., and Dovie Flanagan of Glady; and six grandchildren, Sean Michael Flanagan, Jessica Lynn Flanagan, Katelyn Nicole Flanagan and Dylan Wayne Flanagan, all of Charlotte, N.C., Casey Ryan Flanagan and Kyle Matthew Flanagan, both of Wicomico, Va.
Mr. Flanagan was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Debra Joy Flanagan; and two infant sons, Philip David and Gregory Lee Flanagan.
Mr. Flanagan was retired from Brunk Tile and Interiors of Newport News, Va. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Harman Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5781, Warwick Masonic Lodge 336 of Newport News, Va., and Harman Presbyterian Church.
Friends will be received Friday at the Harman Presbyterian Church from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Mininger officiating. Interment will follow in Pennington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Harman Presbyterian Church, Harman, W.Va. 26270.
