David Gum 1959-2003 Obituary
David Paul Gum, 44, of Belington, departed this life at 9 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2003 in the emergency department of Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health for five years.
Mr. Gum was born Aug. 23, 1959, in Detroit, Mich., a son of Don W. and Margaret B. Gum, who survives in Belington.
Also surviving are one daughter, Michelle Kind of South Carolina; one son, David Paul Gum Jr. of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Breann Gum of Michigan; one brother, Michael Ray Gum of Hazel Park, Mich.; three sisters, Susan Dieann Hobert and husband, Ron, of Hazel Park, Sherry Lee Marstiller of Durbin, and Brenda Kay Gum of Belington; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Barlow of Montrose, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Grover and Donie Gum; his maternal grandfather, Alfred Barlow; one brother, Gary Allen Barlow; one sister, Carol Ann Gum; and one infant nephew, Lucas Anthony Gum.
Mr. Gum attended the schools of Hazel Park, Mich., and before becoming disabled was a laborer in various factories in Michigan.
At the request of the deceased, Mr. Gum’s remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Talbott Funeral Home Saturday at 12:45 pm with the Rev. Pat Cassidy officiating. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for David Paul Gum
