Russell L. Hamner 1934-2003 Obituary
Russell “Boz” Lewis Hamner, 68, of Thomas, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003, at his residence.
He is survived by his first wife, Barbara A. Fink Shepard and his current wife, Sheila J. Bennett Hamner, Thomas. They were married Feb. 20, 1969.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael Hamner, Thomas, and Steven and Karen Hamner, Bel-Alton, Md.; three daughters, Patricia and James Harman, Harman, Pamela Shepard, Newport News, Va., and Tracy Hamner, Thomas; three brothers, James Pase, Thomas, Duane Pase, Clinton, Md., and David H. Pase, Thomas; two sisters, Joanne Harper, Thomas, and Eloise Udovich, Thomas; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Carole Zorb; one brother, Donald Pase; and one nephew, David H. Pase Jr.
Mr. Hamner was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a construction foreman for Interstate Engineers and retired as a plant foreman from Laurel Run Mining Co. in 1990. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aries 936 — Davis, and American Legion, Thomas, Mt. Top Hunting Club and Buffalo Hunting Club.
Friends were received at Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jeff Winter officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
