Emery J. Harr 1917-2003 Obituary
Emery Judson “Pete” Harr, 86, formerly of Canaan Valley and Moorefield, passed away Dec. 16, 2003, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
He was born March 23, 1917, in Canaan Valley, the son of the late Frank and Caroline Kesner Harr.
Mr. Harr was never married. Survivors include one brother, Raymond B. Harr of Moorefield; two sisters, Agnes Carr of Belington, Virginia Smith of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Harr worked as a farmer in Canaan Valley most of his life before selling his farm to Fish and Wildlife and moving to Moorefield 24 years ago.
He was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at the Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at the Hinkle Funeral Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday with Doyle Patch officiating. Interment will follow in the Buena Cemetery in Canaan Valley. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
