Pauline Harsh 1914-2003 Obituary
Pauline Chipps Harsh, 89, a resident of the Clifton Run Road, Kerens, departed this life Friday evening, Dec. 12, 2003, at her home. She had been in declining health.
She was born Monday, Aug. 31, 1914, at Upshur County, the daughter of the late Clinton B. Chipps and Mabel Dean Chipps.
On May 25, 1935, she was married to Delbert Clark Harsh Sr., who preceded her in death on March 30, 2002.
Surviving are one son, Delbert Clark “Jim” Harsh Jr. and wife, Christine, of Kerens; one daughter, Emma F. Shurling and husband, Tony, of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Dale Chipps and wife, Mildred, of Kerens; and six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband is one daughter, Ina Jean Harsh.
Pauline was a graduate of Elkins High School, was a homemaker, and was a Protestant by faith.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
On Tuesday morning, Mrs. Harsh will be moved to the Calvary Baptist Church, where final rites will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Pastor Ralph Andrus will officiate and interment will follow at the Israel Cemetery at Kerens.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Hospice Care Corp., 929 S. Davis Ave., Suite D, Elkins, W.Va. 26241.
