Darlene Fay Watson Scott 1948-2022 Obituary
Darlene Fay Watson Scott, 73, a resident of Dailey, passed from this life Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at her home. She had been in declining health, but death was unexpected.
Darlene was born Wednesday, February 4, 1948, in Beverly, a daughter of the late Silas Lee Watson and Edna Marie Bennett Watson. On February 6, 1965, in Mill Creek, she was married to William O. Scott, who survives. They had celebrated fifty-six years of marriage.
Also left to cherish Darlene’s memory are three children, Denise Armentrout and husband, Mitch, of Elkins, Angie Taylor and husband, Harvey, of Dailey, and Roger Scott and wife, Kelley, of Wardensville, her twin sister, Arlene Knick and husband, Kenny, and sister, Glenda Hedrick and husband, Bill, four grandchildren, Sarah Crislip, Kaitlyn Smith, Travis Taylor, and Amanda Mathes, eight great grandchildren, Thomas, Leeland, Covey, Emmit, Lennox, Gage, Greyson, and Everly, and several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Preceding Darlene in death besides her parents were three brothers, Herman, Bob, and Danny.
Darlene had attended the schools of Randolph County. Throughout her life, she worked at numerous businesses in Randolph County, but her favorite job was being a grandma and great grandma. She enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens, playing cards and board games, and acting crazy with her sisters when they got together. She was known for cooking her “special breakfasts” for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she had a love for people, especially her family. She was a member of the Gospel Light Tabernacle.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Monday from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 11am. Pastor A.H. Belt will officiate and interment will follow in the American Legions Little Arlington Cemetery.
