Dorothy Louise Kennard 1922-2022 Obituary
Dorothy Louise Kennard, 99, of Davis, WV, surrounded by her family, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 8, 2022. Born November 7, 1922, in Davis, WV, the daughter of the late Seymour and Beulah (Landis) Warner.
Dorothy was a graduate of Mountaineer High School. She was a proud homemaker who loved her family dearly. She was known for her quilting skills, sewing, crocheting and weaving. She loved baking and will be remembered for making the best homemade bread and cookies. Dorothy was the oldest living member of the FOE 936.
She is survived by one son, Michael Herman Kennard; two daughters, Jo Anna Kennard-Miller and Deborah Jane Kennard; one son-in-law, Darrell Christian; twelve grandchildren, William, Joseph, John, Jane, Helen, Luranie, Michael, Quincy, Willis, Jay, Sarah and Jessica; 26 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on December 20, 1987, Herman Kennard; one daughter, Christina Christian; three sisters and one brother.
Friends will be received Monday, January 10, 2022, from 4 to 7 pm at Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held, 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the funeral home with Pastor John Callaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Davis Cemetery. The Hinkle-Fenner Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Kennard family at this time.
