Tressie M. Shiflett 1933-2005 Obituary
Tressie M. Shiflett, 71, a resident of Philipsburg, Pa., formerly of Pickens, died Sunday, March 13, 2005, in Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield, Pa.
She was born Aug. 29, 1933, in Pickens, a daughter of the late Ottomore and Elsie Peck Bachman.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Tunning and husband, James, of Buckhannon, and Tammy Mancuso and husband, Joseph, of Sellersville, Pa.; two sons, Stanley Casto and wife, Michele, of Houtzdale, Pa., and Mark Shiflett and wife, Terri, of Winburn, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Amy Frantz, Meredith Hamilton, Jessica Kovaloski, Holly Canfield, James Tunning, Mark Shiflett, Kristin Shiflett and Trisha Mancuso; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hester Heck and husband, Lee, of Tennerton, Cecelia Black and husband, Owen, of Buckhannon and Nellie Thorne and husband, Frank, of Florida; and two brothers, Randolph Bachman and wife, Nora, of New Mexico and Dennis Bachman and wife, Gatha, of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Nethkan; and two brothers, Arthur and Joseph Bachman.
She was retired from Brooks Instrument in Hatfield, Pa., and attended Pickens Baptist Church.
Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in Pickens Cemetery.
