John Arthur Simmons 1941-2009 Obituary
John Arthur Simmons passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009.
He was born March 21, 1945 in Randolph County, West Virginia.
John served the City of Jacksonville as a police officer for 28 years. He also served in Vietnam, where he was awarded The Purple Heart.
John is survived by: his wife Penny; children John Wayne, Theresa Ann, Paul, and Jeff; siblings Helen, James, Larry, Carl, Ray, Elsie, Clinton, and Delmer; along with close family and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 17, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hardage- Giddens Town and Country Chapel.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, August 18, 2009 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
