Wilma I. Gillard 1928-2018 Obituary
Wilma I. Gillard, age 90, of Canton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her beloved husband and son in heaven on November 22, 2018. She was born July 6, 1928 in Mount Erie, Illinois, daughter to the late Wilson and Edna (Puntney) Hedrick. Wilma had a strong belief in God and was a 67-year member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, formerly St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was an Avon lady for many years and cherished the friendships she made during that time. She loved her family so much and nothing pleased her more than the time she spent with them, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. They truly were the light of her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Grant; son, Gordon Gillard and brothers, Samuel, Donald and Victor. Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Pete) Ballos; son, Ron (Penny) Gillard; daughter-in-law, Estelita Gillard; six grandchildren, Eddie (Stephanie) Gillard, Brandon (Jeneanne) Ballos, Michael Ballos, Bryan Gillard, Shane (Kristen) Gillard, Summer Gillard; four great grandchildren, Jessica Gillard, Olivia Gillard, Grant Ballos and Miriam Ballos; siblings, James (Marge) Hedrick, Jean (Lionel) Harris; sisters-in-law, Pat Hedrick, Shirley Hedrick; brother-in-law, Clayton Gillard and Dan (Karen) Reusser who was like a son to her.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in Crossroads United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward Fashbaugh officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8pm in Reed Funeral Home CANTON Chapel as well as one-hour prior in the church from 10-11am.
