Freda Mae (Spicer) Clayton Tatterson 1922-2018 Obituary
Freda Mae (Spicer) Clayton Tatterson, 95, of Fairmont, died peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2018, at Pierpont Nursing Home.
She was born on October 13, 1922, in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Dewey Spicer and Gray Spicer.
Freda worked at Westinghouse in her youth, and later enjoyed being a homemaker. She will be remembered for her love of flea markets and yard sales, gardening, and working in her yard.
In addition to her parents, Freda was preceded in death by husbands, Franklin Clayton and William E. Tatterson; sisters, Gayola and Louglenna; and brothers, Haymond, Hadren and Jim.
Freda is survived by sons, Tom Clayton and wife Betty of Shinnston and William Clayton and wife Diane of Fairmont; daughter, Mary Gardi and husband Joe, of Ohio; sister, Mary Nell Chaffin of North Carolina; and grandchildren, Robert Gardi of Florida, Donnie Gardi of Ohio, Frank Gardi of Kansas, Lee Clayton of Colorado, Lynn Montano of Arizona, and and Michelle Huston of Michigan.
She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Family and friends are welcome to call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, on Friday October 5, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 10-11 a.m., with services taking place at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Cam Pyle officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Cemetery.
