Vernon Irvin Tenney 1948-2010 Obituary
Vernon I. Tenney, 62, of Buckhannon, WV passed away Saturday evening, May 15, 2010 in Washington, D.C. due to complications following heart surgery.
Mr.Tenney was born May 13, 1948 in Buckhannon to the late Arnold Gohen Tenney and Ida Belle Ours Tenney. He was an elder in the Buckhannon Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses for a number of years. He worked for Equitable Resources for 19 years before going to Armstrong Flooring, from where he retired in October 2008.
Mr Tenney is survived by and will be dearly missed by his wife, Barbara Tenney, whom he married on February 5, 1972; his son, Daniel Tenney of Buckhannon, one brother and one sister both of Buckhannon.
Two sons, Vernon Christopher and Kevin Lee preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses with Gary Pyles leading the service.
