Barbara “Barb” Ann Workman Badgett Douglas 1955-2018 Obituary
Barbara “Barb” Ann Workman Badgett Douglas, 62, a resident of Kerens, passed from this life Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew.
Barbara was born on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 1955, in Hagerstown, MD, a daughter of William Allen Workman Jr. and Alma Mae Canfield Workman. She was twice married, first to Avin Thomas Badgett Sr. and then to Thomas Cooper Douglas. Both preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are four children, Boyd Badgett and wife Sarah of Kerens, Wendy Louk and companion Tim Dennis of Beverly, Crystal Scott and husband Brad of Elkins and Tom Badgett Jr. of Elkins, grandchildren, Holli Bennett, Morgan and Emily Butcher, Ashley Fates, Nathan, Matthew, Chelsey, Josh and Joey Badgett, several great-grandchildren and two siblings, Terry Mallow of Montrose and William Allen Workman III of Elkins.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and husbands was one brother, Roy Workman.
Barb was a graduate of Elkins High School and then obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Davis and Elkins College. She had been employed with Randolph County EMS, as a correctional officer in Huttonsville and as a nurse for Dr. Khan. Barb was a member of Randolph County 4-H, Randolph and Barbour County Community Educational Outreach Service, Elkins and Wheeling chapter of Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, I.O.O.F., Elkins Rebekah Lodge #62, Rainbow Girls and Leading Creek Fire Department. She was a cancer survivor and had been an active participant in Randolph County Relay for Life. Barb enjoyed all types of crafting.
Barb’s request for cremation was honored. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, April 12, 2018, from Noon-1: 00 PM. At 1:00 PM a memorial service will be conducted.
