Barbara Jean Fitzgerald Shiflett 1936-2018 Obituary
Barbara Jean (Fitzgerald) Shiflett, 81, of Waynesboro passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born January 29, 1936 in Lyndhurst, Va, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Showalter) Fitzgerald.
Barbara was a member of Lyndhurst United Methodist Church where she also served as the churches organist for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Michael Shiflett. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years Elmer R. Shiflett; her children, Keith Shiflett and wife, Judy of Waynesboro and Patti Young and husband, Louis of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Michelle, Travis and Kevin; great grandchildren, Cami, Paige and Madison.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church, 2835 Lyndhurst Road, with Pastor Vivian M. Utz officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Keith Shiflett, Travis Davis, Kevin Shiflett, Roger Boyers, Louie Young and Steve von Schilling.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the church.
