Curtis R Carr 1930-2017 Obituary
Curtis Carr, 87, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Nella’s Nursing Home in Elkins.
Curtis was born Wednesday, March 5, 1930, in Wymer, a son of the late Solomon Carr and Stella White Carr.
In March of 1962, she married the former Frances Chilgren, who survives.
Also left to cherish his memory is one brother, Solomon Carr and wife, Lois, of Elkins; several nieces and nephews; and special great-nephew, Josh Strader.
Preceding Curtis in death besides his parents were nine siblings, Irene, Sylvia, Opal, Georgetta, Virginia, Arthur, Leonard, Raymond and Todd; and special niece, Carolyn, who made her home with them.
Curtis was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a mechanic by trade after graduating trade school in Chicago, Illinois.
He had been employed for Hinzman Garage and Montgomery Ward Service Center before retiring due to being disabled. Curtis was a kind, caring man always ready and willing to help anyone in need. He was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses by faith.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Tuesday, Dec. 12, from noon to 1 p.m. A brief service will be conducted at 12:45 p.m.
