Ben Hunt as published many articles over the years on Aluminum and Silver Metal working
The articles started as silversmithing but changed to Aluminumsmithing as Ben Hunt realized aluminum is more realistic for people to use than silver, must less expensive and worked about the same as silver
So you could practice on aluminum and switch to silver later
Or you could just work in aluminum and not switch to silver
Silver tarnishes and aluminum oxidizes, both look dull over time if not cleaned, and aluminum is a lot cheaper material
W Ben Hunt created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle names, and published articles under all three name – Ben Hunt wrote 2-4 articles per month for Boy’s Life, and I think he created the Whittlin Jim and Lone Eagle to make is seem like there were multiple authors writing the articles
