RCM November 1964 – The Might R/C Transceiver Construction Article
Page Updated 01/19/2023
The Might was a very small plan in the same issue
This is a very small R/C Transmitter and Receiver with a parts list and construction details
The transmitter is NOT legal today, with the narrow band conversion in the early 1990s all transmitter manufactured before that were made illegal unless unless the transmitters were converted to narrow band
Odd, but pre narrow band R/C transmitters are still for sale on ebay, and are illegal to use
In the early 2000s, there as a converter sold to use with the wide band transmitters that had a ‘buddy box’ port, and converted the radio to 2.4Mhz, and while they did work, they are no longer made
I still have several transmitters that are wide band, a few have the buddy box with a 2.4Mhz conversion kit, it did save a few bucks to go that route at the time
I am also a ham radio operator, so I’m interested in the circuit, and I think this article is an excellent look back in time to the earlier days of R/C radios
