Norma Mae Robey Williams Varner, age 89 years, a resident of Beverly, WV departed this life early Tuesday morning, December 15, 2020 at the West Virginia Caring Hospice Center at Elkins, WV. She had been in declining health for the past five years.
She was born Saturday, March 7, 1931 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Albert Esley and Edith Collins Robey. She was twice married. First, to Dolph Williams, who preceded her in death. Second, to David T. Varner, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, David Williams and wife Amy of Elkins, Paul Williams of Elkins; three daughters, Cathy Farrar and husband Butch of Huttonsville, Charlotte Brown and Darlene Lukenbill, both of Elkins; two sisters in law, Betty Robey and Linda Robey; both of Elkins; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are two sons, Glenn E. Williams and Alfie E. Williams; one daughter, Shirley Shreve; three brothers, Vernon, Darnell and Charles Robey; and four sisters, Vada Louk, Bertha Shifflett, Pearl Lindsey and Laura Kratz.
She attended the schools of Randolph County, was a homemaker and a Christian by faith. She enjoyed cooking and preparing large Sunday family dinners. She loved all her grandchildren dearly.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 5 PM, Thursday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11 AM. The Rev. Brian Seders will officiate and interment will follow at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman, WV. As we continue to follow the CDC guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required.
