Eleanor Bennett, 98, a resident of Philippi, passed away Thursday Nov. 19, 2020, at Talbott’s Personal Care Home.
Eleanor was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Emery and Minnie (Parks) Phillips. Eleanor was united in marriage on July 3, 1943, to Mason “Ace” Bennett, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Surviving is sister, Mary Lawson of Austin, Texas; children, Danny Bennett and wife, Bonnie, of Philippi, Phyllis Deffet and late husband, Rick, of Philippi, and Terry Cutlip and husband, Jim, of Meadowbrook; grandchildren, Jeff Griffith and wife, Kim, of Wheeling, Pam Bennett Kerr and husband, William “Buck”, of Carrolton, Texas, and Todd Deffet and wife, Sara, of Philippi; six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, one sister and her son-in-law.
Eleanor retired from Broaddus Hospital and worked in housekeeping. She was a member of the Tacy Crossroads Church.
A private graveside service will be held at the Marsh Memorial Cemetery at Tacy.
