Lorena J. Farrar, 82, of Palace Valley, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital inBuckhannon.
She was born April 20, 1930, in Palace Valley, a daughter of the late Perry L. and Nellie Hicks Morgan.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Farrar; and one daughter, Linda Katulak and husband, Michael, of Hopewell Township, Pa.
Also surviving is one granddaughter, Sara and husband, Rob Osman, of Aliquippa, Pa.; a great- granddaughter, Mikayla Osman; and a great-grandson on the way; four brothers, Stephen Morgan and wife, Brenice, of Orange City, Fla., Perry Morgan and wife, Betty, of Aliquippa, Joseph Morgan and wife, Poe, of Pickens, and Alfred Morgan and wife, Joann, of Manassas, Va.; special nephew, Jim Heck and wife, McRae; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen McRae; and four brothers, Gale, Elmer, John and Archie Morgan; and one infant brother, Elbert Morgan.
Mrs. Farrar was a born-again Christian and member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church at Czar. She was a gospel singer and frequently volunteered her time to go to nursing homes to sing and play her guitar, along with special friend, Marylena Russell. She enjoyed baking and caring for the family home place in Palace Valley.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 4 p.m. at Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Pine Grove UM Church at Czar with Rev. Jim Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
