Erma Jean Loar, 77, a resident of Route 1, Moatsville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 16, 1935, at Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert D. Swiger and Clara Cain Couts.
She was united in marriage, Oct. 18, 1953, to Dorsey Loar, who preceded her in death in 1979. Surviving are two daughters, Jean Moser of Harrisburg, N.C., and Cathy Loar of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Howard Loar of Moatsville, Jim Loar of Charleston and Brad Loar of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two sisters and two brothers; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Loar was preceded in death by one son, Bob Loar.
She was self-employed as a health care worker. Mrs. Loar attended the Eagles, enjoyed making crafts, angels and tending to plants.
Friends will be received at Shiloh Church of the Brethren Saturday, Feb. 2, from 2 to 3 p.m., the service hour with Pastor Garry Clem officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
