Sandra Sue Hogue Obituary 1952-2013
Sandra Sue Hogue, 61, of Norton, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at her home following a brief illness.
She was born Jan. 26, 1952, at Elkins, a daughter of the late Martin Franklin and Lucy Francis Mace Sturdivant.
Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Shannon and husband, Tim, of Elkins and Cristal D. Miller of Norton; one son, Timothy Hogue and wife, Jessica, of Norton; five sisters, Linda (Don) Mersing, Sylvia (Bob) Martin, Patty (Sterl) Welch, Shelby (Jim) Blankenship and Jo Ann Zigler; one brother, Jack (Betty) Sturdivant; six grandchildren, Josh and Dylan Shannon, David and Sabrina Cathell, Aalyah and Trevor Hogue; her former husband, Roger Hogue; and significant other, J.D. Kyle of Norton.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Sturdivant and Norma Poling; and by one brother, Gary Sturdivant.
Mrs. Hogue was owner and operator of Sandy’s Midtown Tavern in Belington. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Laurel Mountain Post 410 Veterans of Foreign Wars. She loved to sing; and she enjoyed billiards and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, from Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Ave. in Belington. The Rev. Jimmie Tallman will officiate, and interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Elkins. Friends may call from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, Thursday.
Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
