Herbert Junior Hyre Obituary 1931-2013
Herbert “Junior” Hyre, 81, of Buckhannon, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1931, at Frenchton, a son of the late Herbert Paul Hyre Sr. and Agnes McClain Hyre.
On June 7, 1951, he married Betty Cutright, who preceded him in death Jan. 1, 2011.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Robert and Charles Edward Hyre.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Hyre and companion, Bart Waddell, of Buckhannon and Patricia Hyre of Vail, Colo.; two grandsons, Daniel Patrick Corder and wife, Abby, of Zanesville, Ohio, and Jason Todd Corder and wife, Alisa, of Norwich, Ohio; one great-grandson, Zackery Tanner Corder of Zanesville, Ohio; two great-granddaughters, Emilee Marie Corder of Zanesville, Ohio, and Hayley Marie Corder of Norwich, Ohio; and one sister, Ethel Lee Johnston of Holly Grove.
“Junior” was a school bus driver for 40 years for Upshur County Board of Education. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and served in the National Guard.
Friends will be received Saturday, Jan. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Buckhannon-upshur Athletic Department, in memory of Herbert “Junior” Hyre, 50 BU Drive, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
