Jason Shaffer Obituary -2013
This past week we lost Jason Shaffer, (AKA SLIK). Jason was born and raised in Florida, but spent his final years in Durbin.
We will remember that Jason loved and lived life to the fullest – even blindness and chronic illness could not keep him down. Jason loved a good party and could always find one, music of all kinds and big adventures (even skiing blind).
He leaves behind a loving mother, Laura Dent, and his stepfather, Joe Dent; grandfather, Alton Palmer; sisters, Theresa Shaffer King and Maryellen Shaffer Preston; brother, Joey Shaffer; aunts, Penny Lenzen and Sharon Sexton; uncle, Fred Palmer; cousins, Sommer Matthews, Dawn Lenzen, Samantha, Christine and Amanda Palmer, Brian, Dustin and Christopher Sexton; and more good friends than can be counted.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Greathouse and his aunt, Penny Lenzen, officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
