Charlotte Ann Bowers White, 73, a resident of the Chenoweth Creek community, Elkins, departed this life late Sunday evening, April 28, 2013, in Cortland Acres at Thomas.
She was born Thursday, Jan. 25, 1940, at Glady, a daughter of the late Bruce Sr. and Evelyn Marjorie Pritt Bowers.
She was formerly married to Harlan Leon White, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Kelley Denise White and husband, Phillip “Craig,” of Canaan Valley; one brother, Bruce “Junior” Bowers Jr. and wife, Geraldine, of Elkins; one grandson, Joshua Donovan White of Canaan Valley; her companion, James Edward Wood of Elkins; and five nieces and nephews, Brad, Mark, Tracie, Rhonda and Crystal.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1957, was an employee of the former Manos Theater of Elkins, had worked as a secretary for Keim Insurance Co. of Elkins and retired as a bookkeeper for Citizens National Bank with more than 20 years of service.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins Thursday, May 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m., The Rev. Jim Murphy will officiate and cremation will follow.
