Carrie L. Young 1931-2002 Obituary
Carrie L. Young, 91, a resident of 180 Walbash Ave., Buckhannon, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1911, at Gaines, the daughter of the late George and Rella Lee Davidson.
On Aug. 5, 1931, she was married to Sidney Young, who preceded him in death on March 7, 1987.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheila Cogar and Kay Brady, both of Buckhannon; three sons, Stillman Young, Hamilton, Ohio, and George Young, Rock Cave, and John Allen Young, Industry, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one daughter, Gladys Hyre; one son, Earnest Jack Young; one brother, Charlie Davidson; and two sisters, Hettie Burnside and Jessie Fidler.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a member of Rock Cave Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church.
Friends were received from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home where Rock Cave Chapter 82 Order of the Eastern Star held memorial services at 8 p.m. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at the Salem United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Bickel officiated and interment followed in the Salem Ridge Church Cemetery at Rock Cave.
