Lenore Maxine McLaughlin Hamilton, 85, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at the Barbour County Good Samaritan Center. She was a resident of Files Creek, Beverly, prior to entering the center.
She was born July 25, 1917, in Mill Creek, a daughter of the late James and Paradine McLaughlin.
On Jan. 25, 1935, she was married to Ted Hamilton, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister, Eva Pugh of Elkins; a very dedicated daughter-in-law, Jane Schertle Hamilton of Valley Bend; seven grandchildren, Gina, Chris, Tim, Jennifer, Scott, Lantz and Paige Hamilton; three great-grandchildren, Dominic Currence, Lantz Jr. and Ginny Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Stephen Ted and James Hamilton; four brothers, Mark, Clarence “Spike,” Carl and Jim McLaughlin; and one sister, Mary Moore.
She graduated from Tygarts Valley High School and was a member of Mill Creek United Methodist Church.
At the request of the deceased, her remains will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice, 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Lenore Maxine McLaughlin Hamilton.
