Robert Ellsworth Allison, 72, a resident of Garrettsville, Ohio, and a former resident of Parsons, departed this life Monday afternoon, Oct. 21, 2002, in Ravenna, Ohio. Death was attributed to cancer.
He was born Jan. 24, 1930, at Oil City, Pa., a son of the late Verda Allison and Myrtle Blosser Allison.
On July 7, 1984, he married Shirley Snyder Bennett, who survives at Garrettsville, Ohio.
Surviving are one son, Robert Allison; three daughters, Debbie Allison, Bonnie Allison and Jane White, all of Wisconsin; one stepson, Charles Bennett Jr. of Ohio; three stepdaughters, Shirley Plum of West Virginia, Ginger Bennett and Cindy Bennett, both of Ohio; one sister, Lois Jackson of Pennsylvania; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
He was employed by GMC for 28 years as a towmotor operator. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and farming.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home parlor Friday at 2 p.m. Pastor Dick Gadd will officiate and interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Holly Meadows. The Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Robert Ellsworth Allison.
