Charles G. Brock, 82, a resident of 123 Main St., Parsons, departed this life early Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Morgan Manor Nursing Home at Morgantown. He had been in declining health since 1994 and death was attributed to Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1919, at Hillsboro, a son of the late Remus W. Brock and Omie Wamsley Brock.

On June 30, 1943, in New Mexico, he was married to the former Arlene Elizabeth Swecker, who survives.

Also surviving are seven sons, Charles G. Brock II, Macon, Ga., John Wilson Brock, Martinsburg, Allen Clark Brock, Morgantown, Brent Andrew Brock, Macon, Ga., Curtis Arden Brock, Parsons, David K. Brock, Fairfax, Va., and Mark T. Brock, Morgantown; seven daughters, Doris Schilansky, Atlanta, Ga., Bonnie Rupp, Warrington, Va., Jane Harden, Morgantown, Sarah Curran, Vienna, Va., Dora B. Brock, Parsons, Charlene F. Gray, Holmes, Wis., and Lois A. Brock, Vienna, Va.; three sisters, Delilah Morrison, Akron, Ohio, Dora Barnes, Medina, Ohio, and Delores Jesse, Detroit, Mich.; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew W. Brock and Santford S. Brock; and one sister, Deida Foster.

Mr. Brock attended the schools of Hillsboro, attended Tygarts Valley High School and attended Davis & Elkins College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II, and retired from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources as a wildlife manager. He had attended Worldwide Church of God.

Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel Saturday at 3 p.m. The Rev. Verl Simmons will officiate and interment will follow at Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville.
