Geraldine Brafford Davis Baisi, 74, of Charlton Heights, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Montgomery General Hospital.
She was born April 12, 1927, in Fairmont, the daughter of the late William Davis, who was a retired West Virginia state trooper, and Ethel Brafford Davis, who was a retired registered nurse. After the death of her mother, she was raised by her paternal grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Archibal Davis and her aunt, Clara Davis, who resides at Harding.
She married Neal D. Baisi, coach and administrator and teacher at West Virginia University Tech, in May of 1950, and later gave birth to twin boys, Patrick Albert and Michael William, in June of 1951, and a daughter, Deborah Lou, in 1953.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Patrick Albert Baisi of Glen Ferris and Michael William Baisi of Beckley; daughter, Deborah Baisi Lively of Bradley; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Baisi, Chad Edward Honaker, Rick Lee Elkins, Geri Lynn Baisi, Patricia Rose Baisi, Cassie Rea Lively and Patrick Braden Baisi; and great-grandson, Rick Lee Elkins Jr.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School and was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Clarksburg.
She was a Methodist, a member of the Montgomery Womens Club, the Glenn Falls Garden Club and the West Virginia University Institute of Technology’s Water Aerobics Class. She was a very proud homemaker and was active in many activities at WVUIT and was a 52-year resident of Charlton Heights.
Service will be at 11 a.m. today in Montgomery Presbyterian Church in Montgomery with Dr. Denise Hall officiating. Entombment will follow in Montgomery Memorial Park in London. There will be no visitation. O’Dell Funeral Home in Montgomery is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers include former West Virginia Tech basketball players coached by Neal Baisi including Dave West, Dick Hart, Dave Long, Bill Turner, Bobby Watson, Pete Kelly, Mike Bell and Lon Sizemore.
