Louise Harper 1916-2002

Louise Harper, 85, a resident of Harman, passed away at 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Milton, a daughter of the late William Henry and Lona Laura Mayse Conrad.

She was married to Robert Eston Harper, who preceded her in death in 1992.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. James (Betty Lou) Phillips, Belington; one sister, Lelia Bonnstetter of Charleston, Ill.; and one granddaughter, Mrs. James (Sherry) Poling, Manassas, Va.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, George and Carl; and one sister, Thelma.

Mrs. Harper was employed for 30 years as a manager at the Harman ABC Store prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Harman Post 5781 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, a former member of the Randolph County Democratic Committee for several years, and attended Job United Methodist Church

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating. Interment will follow in White Cemetery near Job. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Randolph County Unit, 105 Wilson Lane, Elkins, W.Va. 26241, or to the American Heart Association, West Virginia Affiliate, PO Box 11062, Charleston, W.Va. 25339.
