Ronald Paul Harrold 1946-2002 Obituary
Ronald Paul Harrold, 55, a resident of Gateway Apartments, Elkins, departed this life early Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at his residence. He had been in declining health for the past several years. However, death was unexpected.
He was born May 10, 1946, in Elkins, a son of the late Harry Edwin Harrold and Stella Anita Houchin Harrold.
He was married to the former Cheryl Marie Meadows, who preceded him in death on June 6, 1997.
Surviving are one brother, David Harrold and wife, Ruth, Elkins; and three stepdaughters, Tracey of Richmond, Va., Kelley of Buckhannon, and Holly of Belington.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1964. He began his business career at his father’s grocery store, Harrold’s Key Market in 1965. He briefly operated a gasoline station in the Crystal Springs Community before joining the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was employed as an announcer for radio stations WDNE and WELK for many years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Friends will be received at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Bishop Lynn Muhlestein, Elder Les Edinger and Elder Ralph Bennett will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
