Montana Lee Ball, 78, of Route 4, Buckhannon, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon.
She was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Archibald Wright and Fanny Carder Wright.
On July 13, 1942, she married Ronald M. Ball, who preceded her in death on March 25, 1997.
Surviving are three daughters, Charlotte Bennett and husband, Gene, Naomi Fortney and husband, Bob, and Ilene Marsh and husband, William, all of Buckhannon; four sons, Danny Ball, Harold Ball, Jacob Ball and wife, Thelma, and Jimmy Ball and wife, Sandra, all of Buckhannon; one brother, Aubrey Wright, Nestorville; two sisters, Geraldine Oldaker, Buckhannon, and Pauline Williams, Philippi; four half brothers, Okey Wright, Robert Wright, Donnie Wright and David Wright, all of Buckhannon; two half sisters, Bonnie Holmes, Washington state, and Icie Harrison, Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Fortney, two great-granddaughters, Kayla Ball and Cara Ball; and her stepmother, Beulah Wright.
Mrs. Ball was a cook and caregiver and a member of Kesling United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Donald McCauley and the Rev. Michelle Keener-goss will officiate and interment will follow in Kesling Cemetery at Kesling Mill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kesling Youth Group in care of Ilene Marsh, Route 4, Box 606, Buckhannon, W.Va. 26201.
