Curtis Leroy Hepner Sr., 92, of Jenkins Run Road, Moorefield, died early Tuesday morning, Feb. 19, 2002, in Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg.
Mr. Hepner was born April 16, 1909, in Mt. Jackson, Va., a son of the late John W. and Pearl Craig Hepner.
He married Rea Cleaver Hepner, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Judith Judy and husband, Gerald, and Wilda and husband, Carl Hogbin II, all of Petersburg, and Greta Lehman and husband, Lee, Moorefield; two sons, Curtis “Buck” Hepner Jr., Enfield, Conn., and John “Mike” Hepner and wife, Hilda, Hampton, Va.; a sister, Emma Jean Simmons, Moorefield; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mr. Hepner was a truck driver and retired from South Branch Motor Freight of Petersburg. He was a member of Baker’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends may call at Elmore-chambers Funeral Home in Moorefield Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Judy Vetter and Pastor Ron Bowyer officiating. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield. Memorial donations may be made to Baker’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Grant County Nursing Home or Burlington Children’s Home
