Robert Daniel Helmick, 94, of Petersburg, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, in Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town, where he had resided since April 1995.
Mr. Helmick was born Sept. 1, 1907, in Moorefield, a son of the late Job Helmick and Laura Thorne Helmick Ours.
He was twice married. First, he married Verda Shirk Helmick, who preceded him in death. Second, he married Cleo Keplinger Helmick, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two half sisters, Lucy Hedrick Boor, Petersburg, and Mary Dell Sites, Hagerstown, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Hobert Ours; and three brothers, Ervin Helmick, John Helmick and Elton Helmick.
Mr. Helmick was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Brake Church of the Brethren.
Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg is in charge of the arrangements.
