William Henry Nease, 81, of 3 Myrna St., Buckhannon, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002, at his home in Buckhannon.
Mr. Nease was born Nov. 6, 1920, in Mason County, a son of the late Henry Brady and Kathyrn Viola Fruth Nease.
On June 9, 1945, he married Ramona McGrew Nease, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, William Conrad Nease and wife, Deborah, Buffalo, and Marion Cornell Nease, Buckhannon; a daughter, Martha Gaynelle “Gay” Jeffers and husband, Donald, Bridgeport; and three granddaughters, Andrea Renea Nease, Morgantown, Alaina Gaynelle Nease, Buffalo, and Samantha Taylor-paige Nease, Buckhannon.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Celestine Nease; two sisters, Mamie Noble and Jean Trussell; and a half brother, Howard Long.
Mr. Nease was a warehouse supervisor for Headquarters & Headquarters Detachment in Charleston. He served in World War II in the Aleutian, Alaska. He was retired from the United States Property & Fiscal Office National Guard in Buckhannon.
He was a life member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of New Haven and sponsored “The Lutheran Hour” for many years on WBUC Radio in Buckhannon.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor George Weirick officiating. Interment will follow in Heavner Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Property & Fiscal Office National Guard at the gravesite.
