Leroy V. “Bud” Simmons, 80, of Amarillo, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in Amarillo, Texas.
Surviving are a son, Jim Simmons, McDonough, Ga.; three daughters, Santha Blum, Ft. Collins, Colo., and Donell Marus and Dolita Simmons, both of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Leola Salisbury, Albuquerque, N.M., and Luella Losh, Nutter Fort; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Simmons served in World War II in China as Lance Corporal. He was a cook and a Methodist by faith.
Funeral Arrangements: Funeral services will be at Llano Mausoleum Chapel Friday at 1 p.m. with Bishop Brock Lovett of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Interment will follow in Llano East Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas, where military rites will be accorded by DAV Chapter 26. Blackburn-shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, 5th & Pierce, Amarillo, Texas, is in charge of the arrangements.
